Peak Oil Causes Global Recession, Depression

Clips featuring Colin Campbell, Richard Heinberg, Julian Darley, etc.

Oil is used for everything. When we reach maximum production, that is a very significant point.

Global oil production will peak, and everything will change.

Less and less oil fields are being discovered. New oil is found in smaller pockets.

4/5 of oil being consumed was found before 1970.

Norway, Britain UK, and Norway have all passed their nation’s peak.

The world consumes three times as much oil as we are finding.

53 countries are producing less oil now than in the past.

We expend about 10 Calories of fossil fuel energy for every Calorie of food energy produced. This is unsustainable.

Global hunger and famine could be a result of peak oil.

Economic contraction will most likely result from peak oil.

A perception of a contraction economy will itself cause a contraction.

This could cause the second great depression.

    And what exactly …
And what exactly would they do about it? Fess up? That’d be political suicide. if you think about what’s needed. No, much easier to start a war or divert attention to the now acknowledged climate crisis and so forth. To admit that economic growth is over forever is simply not an option to the elites.

    Wow, peak oil …
Wow, peak oil denialists, global climate change denialists are seemingly everywhere. I hope you guys are enjoying yourselves (at least for the time being LOL). Our species is on a high speed collision course with a massive WALL of reality. Good luck to each and every one of you.

    If the USA …
If the USA politicians were smart, they could curve their oil consumption by 50% in a very short time. I am from Canada but i have family in the states, and I love visiting the USA.

    T. Boone Pickens is correct. The USA needs to act now. The states have the potential to produce vast amounts of electricity through wind turbines. No other country has the wind resources as the USA.

The politicians need to get their head out of their ass, and tell middle eastern oil countries to suck mud !!

    Peak Oil is not …
Peak Oil is not bullshit. The UK, as well as many other nations, are in big trouble in the near future. The North Sea Oil Fields have been in depletion since 1999. Unfortunately for the UK, you have very little in regards to natural resources.

The IEA just recently sent out its annual energy report, and it said that world oil is depleting at 9% per year, while current demand is increasing around 1.5% per year.

    It is a huge problem.

Ok, it’s not like the governments and the people who run the world don’t see this coming…And if they did see this coming, wouldn’t they do something…

If the general public knows about peak oil… the elite, government, and heads of industry knows 100 years into the future of oil production.

Trust me, they don’t just let it slip their minds, that would be rediculous.

Peak oil = the rest …
Peak oil = the rest of the world is no longer willing to let U.S. use 50% of the resources
and only have 6.5% of the pop. $ is no longer world reserve currency (petro dollar)
Production is suppressed by Oil Oligarcy, for purpose of price fixing. “As you sow so shall you reap” chickens always come home to roost.
    western hegemony is finished

    i wonder what’s …
i wonder what’s will happen to oil company stocks ?
i know that when it hits ,so called demand destruction will start @ around $140 barrel as we wittnessed this year, however i doubt that actual demand has fallen…it seems we still use over 85M b oil in a DAY!
especially demand from china ,india ,developing natinon are unlikely to ease ,they need food.
there may be people dieing from hunger..
    or riots for food etc.
