Drilling in the refuge is a red herring. Simply increasingly car fuel efficiency standards will reduce dependence on foreign oil, far more than drilling ever can. But that doesn’t make oil companies quick profits.
The arctic refuge is the last 5% of the arctic coastal plain not already opened to oil drilling & seismic exploration. It’s the last fully intact ecosystem left in the U.S. Drilling is short-sighted & will cost us more than it’s worth.
