SO .. what your saying is that Europe have lower emission standards then California currently? So does every other state in the US right? Or is this not the case?
I found a website saying the Euro 5 standard was supposed to happen in 2009, did that date get changed?

indyfan22k = you’re right. In Europe, when the barrel 1 year ago was at 150$ the barrel, the price of a gasoline litre in Swiss is 2.10 swiss francs. 1 gallon = 3.78 litres.
7.94 swiss francs the gallon. So, 1 US$ is in this days 1.09 HF (swiss francs), is in US$ 7.29 the gallon ! RIght now, the reason thy in Europe, we’re in the obligation to drive small cars with small engines (1.6 l. & under !).

THe European standards are inspired by the Law of Emissions from California. Right now, we’ve got Euro 4. And the Euro 5 is for 2011 or 2013.
The next futures rules of emissions from cars in California are compare to the Euro6 !
For the diesel engines, european auto makers use the ADBlue for the Euro 6 emissions. At this moment, we’ve got Euro 4 & 5. Fiat is the automaker with a more little nomber of emissions in EUrope followed by PSA (Peugeot-Citroen) & Renault !
