Peak Oil is slowly reaching stage 3, too late to avoid some major problems that could’ve been avoided or mitigate some major problems that couldn’t be avoided. Also, so few people understand the significance of Peak Oil, if they know about it all. We have to sit down to a “banquet of consequences” and most of the guests think they’re turning up for their usual meal.

When the best new …
When the best new discovery America can make is several miles under the seabed in the Gulf of Mexico using multi-billion dollar platforms, it’s hard to argue that the era of cheap oil is over. Current major oilfields are all in decline. Oil is priced at Marginal Cost (MC) of production – basic economics 101. The MC for new oil is now hugely expensive – and getting more expensive by the day.

Bullshit. I believe in peak oil and I also believe, based on actually LOOKING at the evidence (something most environmentalists don’t ever do) that AGW is not as clear cut as Al Gore would have us believe. Actually, I shouldn’t use the word ‘environmentalist’ either, because in some sense, I’m an environmentalist. I think the Earth should be reforested, for example. Does that blow your mind?
