So the democrat congress proposed 5.1 billions subsidy for air conditioning and heating for the poor. The GOP blocked it and got blasted for "not helping the poor" and bla bla.
Meanwhile, the democrat pride, Nancy pelosi said she would reject any offshore drilling discussion.
By subsidizing electricity, you basically increase the demand of gasoline or oil. Currently, 2 millions barells per day out of 8 millions of Alaska oil production go straight to electricity power plants. This bill will even encourage people to use more electricity, hence, oil.
So democrats encourage increased consumption on oil but doesn’t want to even let people to vote on oil drilling? Why? Please refrain from the name calling in here.
Ps; I am a middle class and I don’t even have air conditioning. I just blast my fan and drink a lot of water in 100 degrees day. Also, whatever happened with balancing the 480 billions deficit if we keep lauching welfare and subsidies like this?

It’s just another cheap head-fake when Dems mention the deficit; the ONLY reason they don’t like the current deficit is because it’s not THEIR DEFICIT!
As to your main point: The purpose of the Democrat Party is to part you from your money, give SOME of it back to you in the form of programs that THEY CHOOSE, and then tell you how much they’ve done for you lately. So, the subsidy makes perfect sense in their warped world-view.
As for the drilling: That’s a religious issue with Dems and you’d think you were having a theological argument with an al-Qaeda representative when you try to get them to discuss it without raving and foaming at the mouth. They simply CANNOT sound rational when the subject of oil comes up and you can forget about ‘em making any sense whatsoever when the subject is offshore drilling.

Nancy Pelosi don’t care how much you sweat, you can bet everything you have now, or everything you ever will have that Nancy Pelosi and most elected democrats are invested up to their asses in wind farms. And like T Boone Pickens, they don’t want anything such as more drilling to slow down the push for wind farms. The elitist that don’t want’em in their backyard don’t mind having them erected in mine, we got’em by the thousands. 47.000 acres of wind generators so far, it’s the worlds largest wind farm and it’s still growing by leaps and bounds, and the democrats are invested to the hilt.

off shore drilling is not always the most efficient way to get oil thats why.
I heard they want to drill off of California’s coast and that supply will last 1.5-2 yrs. 1.5 yrs oil and all it costs is the beautiful california coast and all the animals that live there. I am sorry, but I don’t want my beaches destroyed for a measly amount of oil thats for sure.
Yes air and heating are needed and they always will be especially help in this economy, however, offshore drilling is not the answer.
